The first steps are in place to add Adopt a Grave to communityforveteranfamilies.org, and with that, the program will be live! It has been a long road, but we are finally launching the program. Admittedly, with training wheels… crawl before we walk, but soon we will be running!
Development Log #8
At long last, we are going live! Stage 1 of is underway and running smoothly. Stage 2 should begin before morning. We are putting the final touches in place, and very shortly, the most comprehensive memorial database will be online!
Development Log #7
As far as milestones go, today was the biggest. Today, in a little bar in New Braunfels, TX called the Lonestar Lounge, a small group of people gathered to officially launch the Adopt A Grave program. The first 3 cemeteries will be San Antonio National Cemetery, Comal Cemetery, and the San Antonio Confederate Cemetery. Plans…
Development Log #6
Every once in a while, I do something which makes me realize how staggeringly large this project is. I’m running 2 programs right now… one will take about 45 hours, 22 minutes… the other has been running for a while and will take another 17 hours, 18 minutes… this is what happens when you crunch…

An additional 26,563 veterans are in the…
Development Log #2
4 days later… development is going well. It is, however, a struggle. Progress is made step by step, not by leaps and bounds. While there is still much work to be done, I can honestly say that we are closer today than we are yesterday, and we will be closer still tomorrow. Each day I…

In an effort to document the creation of this site, for posterity or simply to preserve my sanity, I have decided to document the development of this site. Yesterday was a good day. I finally got the routines necessary for the gathering and display of data to work correctly… in theory. The test routines did…
